Our tomatoes
La Cesenate Conserve Alimentari, was created in 1949, and it is a leading producer of organic fruits and tomatoes. Products are grown in very rich soils: over 600 hectares of land are cultivated for tomatoes, peaches, pears, apricots in Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. During over half a century, La Cesenate has turned from a family size enterprise to a concrete economic reality, leader in the sector of tomato sauces. Attention to the product begins with cultivation, in the most fertile lands of Italy, and continues at each stage of processing to guarantee the highest quality standards. Our agronomists chose the variety of products to grown, providing technical assistance for farmers throughout the agronomic cycle. Crops are periodically controlled, particularly at harvest time to guarantee that the fruit has ripened to the correct point. Tomatoes and fruits are processed within 8 hours of being harvested. Our processing methods preserve the natural quality of fruits and tomatoes, and are based on advanced technologies including the use of heat and cold: the high level of automation allows us to work large quantities in short times, living the quality of raw materials unaltered. Besides analytic controls, raw materials are selected during the supplying phase as well as during the production phase, through optical sorting machines. The full traceability of the product is ensured during all phases of production and processing.
